Ceramic knit works

It’s own logic Glazed ceramic, homespun wool, mixed wool, embroidery thread, glue, nails, June 2023

One of a series of works exploring earlier stages of craft: in which the artist has spun raw wool, which was then knitted by her mother, and hand-built ceramic frames from clay. The ceramics act as a support for the knitting, the history of which the artist has been researching alongside her solo show at Framework Knitters Museum. This show centred around lace, knitting and framing, the home, the inherited, art and craft hierarchies, nostalgia and domestic textiles.
